What is Heka. Why is it important?
Heka is a both a deity of magic, as well as the word that defines the magical act and the power that the deities and we, as magicians employ. This, along with Ma’at forms the basis of our magical act, primarily the word. The concept appears in many of the tales of the divine. Perhaps the most famous is the power that Isis gained from Ra, and her learning of his hidden name so that she can elevate her power to the highest.
