I’ve just finished the above book. An Egyptologist recommended this and I found it easy to read. It’s a good overview of Heka in ancient Egypt and there are lots of colour photos of primary sources.
As well as investigating Heka in ancient Egypt, it also looks at how this affected/has been incorporated in Abrahamic religions.
The book has inspired me to research the deity/figure of Hermes Trismegistus, but spiritually/ritually stick to the pre Greco Roman period of Egypt.
